Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using ChatTrail, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What ChatTrail does

ChatTrail is a browser extension and web application that captures thread titles and URLs from Claude and ChatGPT and organises them into topics you create. ChatTrail does not store, read, or process the content of your AI conversations — only metadata (title, URL, timestamp, provider).

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must not share your account or use ChatTrail on behalf of another person without their consent. You must be at least 16 years old to use ChatTrail.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from ChatTrail
  • Use the service to store, distribute, or process unlawful content
  • Interfere with or disrupt the infrastructure that runs ChatTrail
  • Create accounts by automated means or under false identities

5. Intellectual property

All rights in the ChatTrail software, design, and brand are owned by ChatTrail. Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to use our trademarks or branding. The data you create (topics, thread assignments) remains yours.

6. Service availability

ChatTrail is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend or terminate the service with reasonable notice, except in cases of abuse or legal obligation.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChatTrail is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms. On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or a notice in the app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
